Most procedures are completed the same day as your consultation, under local anesthetic, and you can drive yourself home after.

If a lesion is changing in size, shape, or colour — or if it's bleeding, itching, or feels different — it warrants an assessment. Dr. Hayward will evaluate it and give you a clear, honest recommendation.

Removal of benign moles that are cosmetically bothersome, uncomfortable, or changing in appearance. Suspicious moles are sent for pathology testing to ensure your peace of mind.

Complete surgical removal of sebaceous, epidermal, and other skin cysts. Unlike draining, full removal prevents recurrence and resolves repeated inflammation or infection.

Lipoma Removal

Removal of soft, fatty lumps beneath the skin. Lipomas are harmless but can become uncomfortable or bothersome. Complete excision prevents regrowth.

Quick, clean removal of skin tags that catch on clothing or jewellery, or appear in visible areas. Often completed in a single appointment with minimal recovery.

Assessment and removal of a wide range of skin lesions — including benign growths, nodular lesions, and lesions of unknown origin that require evaluation.

If a lesion is suspicious for skin cancer — including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma — Dr. Hayward will assess, advise, and manage your care appropriately.

Medically Necessary Removal

If your lesion is suspicious for skin cancer — or if Dr. Hayward determines there is a medically necessary reason for removal — the procedure may be covered by OHIP.
