Looking to have a mole, cyst or other skin growth assessed and removed, without a long trip to get there?

PSSC is located in Newmarket, just a short drive from Aurora — close enough that getting assessed and treated doesn't need to mean setting aside a whole afternoon. We see patients from Aurora regularly for assessment and removal of moles, cysts, lipomas, skin tags and other skin lesions.

No referral is required. You can refer yourself directly and book a consultation without waiting on a referral to be arranged first.

What Patients from Aurora Come In For

Given how close Aurora and Newmarket are, the decision to come to PSSC is usually less about distance and more about wanting a straightforward path: one clinic, one board-certified plastic surgeon, from assessment through to removal.

Not Sure What the Lump or Growth Is?

You don't need a diagnosis before booking. If you're not sure whether something is a cyst, a lipoma, a mole, a skin tag, or another type of lesion, that's a normal reason to be assessed. Dr. Hayward will examine the area and discuss whether removal is appropriate.

Mole, Cyst, Lipoma & Skin Tag Removal

Each concern is assessed on its own terms — size, depth, location and history all factor into the right approach. Multiple concerns can often be addressed during the same appointment.

Skin Lesion Assessment & Removal

If what you're dealing with doesn't fit neatly into one category, that's a common reason to book an assessment rather than guess.

Suspicious or Changing Lesions

A mole or lesion that has changed in size, shape or colour, or that has started bleeding, itching or crusting, should be assessed as soon as possible. These changes don't necessarily mean something is serious, but they're a reason to be examined rather than to wait and see.

What Matters When Choosing Where to Have It Removed

Once you've decided to have a mole, cyst, lipoma or other growth removed, a few things are worth understanding about any clinic before you book:

Assessment first. The growth should be examined before removal — its size, depth and appearance affect what approach makes sense, rather than assuming one method fits everything.

Who's actually doing the work. Find out whether the same person assesses and performs the procedure, and their qualifications. A board-certified plastic surgeon brings different surgical and closure training than many non-surgical settings.

Scarring and closure. How the area is closed matters as much as how the growth is removed, particularly anywhere visible.

Pathology testing, when it's warranted. Most removals don't need it, but it should be available if a growth has features worth a closer look.

Location and referral requirements. Given how close Aurora and Newmarket are, distance is rarely the deciding factor — but whether a referral is required can still add real time to the process.

Understanding the plan before proceeding. You should know what's recommended, why, the cost, and what recovery involves before any procedure goes ahead.
